If the truth be told, the start of my 2014 was crap.
I was chronically ill over Christmas and New Year’s Eve and a few days after celebrating our second Australia Day in London (26 January) we lost a very dear friend. His death was sudden and quite traumatic for all those that it impacted. With the end of our time in the UK fast approaching we decided that the best option was to return home to Brisbane to recuperate.
Shortly after our decision was made we were offered the chance to stay in the UK through sponsorship. It was clear that our time in London was far from over and this could be our second chance. So, we spent a refreshing few months in Australia with our wonderful family and friends and returned to London with a renewed outlook on life. After all, shit happens. We turned our year around and the rest of it was pretty awesome.
