It seems that our generation has picked up another nickname… the Boomerang Generation. Apparently we are so named for boomeranging back to our place of origin and choosing to cohabitate with our parents after a period of living on our own.
Well, here we are again. Visiting our home town is always a special treat as we get to catch up with loved ones and spend valuable time with our folks. Back in Brisbane for a wedding, we are staying between our parent’s houses for a couple of weeks and reaping the benefits of comfy beds and home cooked meals. I am now coining this a Boomerang Holiday.
In a bid to save a bit of money on our two week holiday, we are crowding the (usually) empty nest and bumming lifts to get around town. Throw in the struggle of realising you can’t reply to a text without recharging prepaid mobile phone credit and borrowing Aussie dollars until our expired bank cards are re-issued, I feel like I am a teenager all over again!
But our holiday so far has been fantastic! We have been busy catching up with friends and trying to organise our adult lives, but we are loving every moment of it. We even had enough time to pop up to Noosa for a couple of days – though it was a bit cool to be swimming – and visit Dan’s grandma Marge.
