Cruise holidays for couples

A cruise ship in Turkey

Whether you’re on a week-long holiday or just a short weekend getaway, a cruise is the perfect choice for couples looking to spend some quality time together. It’s just you, your partner and the open ocean – plus plenty of activities and experiences that are just perfect for two!

Let’s take a look at some of the best (and most romantic) activities for couples aboard some of the major cruise lines. There’s a lot on offer, so if you’re finding it hard to decide which lovers’ getaway is best for you, visit a site like CruiseAgency.com.au* to take a look at all your options side by side.

Romantic dinners

There are plenty of romantic dining venues aboard major cruise ships, but some go the extra mile to create a really special experience for couples. Royal Caribbean’s elegant formal dining venue, The Grande Restaurant, is ‘a luxuriant nod to a bygone era’ – perfect for an old-school date night. The seductive Dragon Lady, an Asian restaurant on select P&O ships, is also a great choice for couples who want to enjoy an intimate, exotic meal in a sultry setting.

If you’re cruising with Princess, you can even indulge in a decadent four-course meal from the comfort of your stateroom balcony! Ultimate Balcony Dining is available for a romantic breakfast or intimate dinner – both complete with champagne or sparkling wine, of course.

Couples spa sessions

In today’s busy world, you and your partner probably don’t get to relax and recharge together as often as you like. The solution: a rejuvenating couples session at the spa on-board your cruise!

On P&O cruises, you can choose from a range of couples massages at Aqua Spa, or even purchase a VIP couples pass to the Thermal Suite. The full-service Vitality Spa on Royal Caribbean ships also includes special spa services for men, so couples can enjoy all their treatments together.

Secluded relaxation

P&O’s adults-only pool area, The Oasis, ensures couples have plenty of quiet time to themselves. It features cushioned cabanas and hanging chairs, a full bar, and a sun-kissed deck that’s open to the cool sea breeze – and there are no kids allowed!

The Australian Carnival cruise line also offers a couple’s dream relaxation space in its Adult-Only Serenity Retreat. Complete with swaying hammocks and a bar where you can grab a relaxing drink, it’s the perfect place to relax and reconnect as a couple.

Adults-only comedy

If you’re up for a laugh together, why not enjoy a P&O Comedy Cruise? It’s the perfect three-day getaway for a long weekend, and features plenty of different comedians and shows – including an adults-only late night show, which is a little bit raunchy and a lot of fun!

***

As you can see, there’s no shortage of couples’ activities on cruises – so why not sail away into the sunset together?

Cheaper sometimes too! If you get a deal it’s cheaper to cruise from Auckland to Fiji than to fly – and you get all your meals included!
