I love my visits to the United States of America. I haven’t seen nearly as much as I would like to, but it’s such a big country! But one place that remains close to my heart is Las Vegas.
Daniel and I remarried here, just 33 days into our honeymoon in May 2012. It was one of those events that will stay with us.
The Chapel of Bells is one of the most famous places in Vegas to get married. We enjoyed renewing our vows here because the Chapel had featured in some of our favorite movies.
Of course, remarrying wasn’t all we did in Vegas! There was a lot of Poker and other forms of gambling too. After all, that’s the main reason most people come to Vegas. But you can enjoy a wonderful vacation here without gambling at all. There is plenty to do and plenty to see. It may be a grown-ups playground, but there are even some great ideas for family vacations too.
With all of it’s flashy lights and crowds of people, The Strip is the kind of place you don’t want to hang out at all night, but it is a great spot for people watching. And then there is the fountain at the Bellagio; stunning!
And, if you’re staying in Vegas, you don’t have to stay in a casino hotel either. You can choose your preferred Las Vegas vacation rentals from a wide choice of apartments right by the strip. This is a great way to stay and play in Vegas without having to get drawn into the casino mentality if you don’t want to do that.
Of course, the casinos offer far more than gambling. They each have some boutique stores and memorabilia desks. They also offer pools and restaurants. You can even find piano lounges. But perhaps the most appealing part of what the hotels can offer is the entertainment. You can find some of the biggest names in showbiz here, as well as some pretty incredible spectaculars. We saw a couple of shows while we were in town and we were blown away by how good they were.
There is an Indoor Skydiving Center you can try out in Las Vegas too. The sensation of flying has to be one of the most awesome to experience. And if you like high speed, you won’t be disappointed. Some of the best roller coasters in the world are here. Or why not try a Nevada helicopter tour? You can race the best muscle cars in America, or even do battle up in the skies with a Sky Combat Ace experience.
With so much desert around, it would be a shame not to experience what this region has to offer. From shooting big guns to racing dune buggies, you can be assured of a high adrenaline experience. A Gondola ride at the Venetian brings the pace down a little and is more family friendly too. There is a dolphin habitat at the Mirage, and a Madame Tussauds full of great wax works.
Vegas is a great place for any kind of vacation. Whether you’re with friends, family, or loved ones, there is plenty to see and do. Have fun!
